We make our stick chairs using a variety of techniques, from planing to turning to scooping and scorping and travishing and wedging.. and don't forget reaming! A whole variety of techniques with odd names are employed. Each chair is different and unique as we explore the form and process of making and interpreting this classic, timeless, handsome piece of vernacular furniture history: the Welch Stick Chair.
It is a wooden chair you can sit in for hours. It is suitable as a dining chair, desk chair, morning coffee chair, glass of wine chair... Meticulously crafted. We offer it in numerous wood species and finishes. If you would like a painted chair or a chair of another wood species, we are happy to do so. If you have any requests, such as number of back spindles for example, please contact us.
Lead time is currently 8 - 16 weeks.
